13) Jewel Tea, club piece of 1931 delivery truck. It is a die cast metal bank, a Model A Ford, limited edition, offered in 1993 to NALCC members as the 1994 Club piece and is New in Box.  Great accent piece for your AL collection, after all this is the fellow who brought all those wonderful dishes to Mom.  Less than 6000 of these were made for the NALCC.  We only have ONE left.

Autumn Leaf Jewel Tea  Marmalade Jars

Hall china began production of these Marmalade Jars in 1938 and they were discontinued the following year.  Out of all the pieces of Autumn Leaf china that was produced these are not easy to find and to find one in mint condition is very difficult.  These are no exception. 

The lid on the one pictured on the left has a hairline crack and some crazing inside as pictured in the second and third thumbnails; the jar itself has crazing and discoloration which shows through to the outside; the under plate is near mint with heavy gold and a slight imperfection in the decal.

The lid on the one pictured on the right has a small crack that doesn't go all the way through the lid but has a small chip missing (see third thumbnail); the jar has discoloration in the bottom that shows through on the outside (see second thumbnail), the gold in the jar is mint; the under plate has mint gold but has a chip on the underside which is slightly visible from the outside edge, the top edge of the under plate in the second thumbnail shows the small chip.

15)  This Jewel Tea, Autumn Leaf Covered Cake Tin was made for their Fruit Cake.  It still has the complete label for 24oz. cake and the inside is near mint as is the outside of tin.  Some folks have even found this with the fruit cake still inside!  That could almost be classed as a weapon today!  With out the cake we have this fine little tin offered at ...  $28.00 ... 15a)  This Jewel Tea, Autumn Leaf Covered Fruit Cake Tin is fine inside but shows wear to edges and only has a partial label.  We have this one priced at $20.00.

17) This oval Vegetable Bowl in the Autumn Leaf pattern was first introduced in 1939, then reissued in 1978. The length measures 10 1/2" from rim to rim and 8" wide.  The bowl is in near mint condition with dark pattern colors with very slight wear and slight imperfection to glaze on inner rim during manufacturing.  This piece is a mellow color 98% gold remains.  ...  $55.00 ... Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf     Red Metal Serving Tray

 This Metal Serving Tray with the Autumn Leaf pattern and red boarder was introduced in the '40s.  It measures 17 3/8" X 12 7/8" and approximately 1" deep and is in very fine condition, some paint off edges and several scars and wear patches in white field. The reverse is near mint.  Any metal pieces of this age are fairly non-existent.  So when an item is found in nice share it is a true parity.

This oval Hot Pad has a metal base and cardboard insert. These round metal Hot Pads from the Jewel Tea Company, have Autumn Leaf Pattern cardboard inserts. Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf Round Metal Canister

The Jewel Tea  Metal Canister with Autumn Leaf pattern was made during 1935 with the small and medium canisters following in 1936.  With the cover removed the height is 6 1/8" and base is 4 3/8" outside diameter making this the smallest of the set.  The inside is very fine and bright, the overall

Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf Oval Covered Vegetable Bowl

21c)  The Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf pattern covered oval vegetable bowl was introduced by Hall China Co. in 1940 and discontinued in 1976. The oval bowl measures 9 3/4" from rim to rim and 11 3/4" overall with handles and is 6 1/4" wide. This piece is mint in color and pattern with no gold wear on lid and with 100% gold remaining on bowl.  There is the beginning of that mellow yellowing to bowl.  We have this fine piece priced at ... $125.00   We have just placed another mint covered oval vegetable bowl  with minor flaking on one spot of the lid, out for sale in our shop and it is priced at  $120.00 ..... 23a)  The largest 3 1/2 quart mixing bowl was introduced early in 1933 and the 2 quart and 1 quart bowls were added by Christmas of that year to make up the set.  The large bowl has some black speckling to the outside and a spider on the bottom; 90% gold. Medium bowl has the same speckling as the large bowl and inside shows wear from mixer; 65% gold.  The small bowl shows very little wear with about 75% gold and is the best condition of the three pieces.  Set is still collectible or can still withstand years of use.  We have this set priced at  $70.00 ..... 27a)  This drip jar again would have been part of the Range Set that was introduced in 1936.  Many times the lid got broken and the "jar" would be used as a bowl.  This 5 inch covered bowl was used to collect fat or grease drippings from every day cooking.  The complete countertop stove set would have had individual large handled salt and pepper shakers, which vary in design.  This drip jar is mint with about 100% gold.   Lid is mint with perfect pattern and 98% gold.  These are getting hard to find in this condition.  We have this one priced at ... $75.00... 28)  These  "Radiance" custard cups were originally part of a set of six and Jewel Tea introduced them in 1936.  They hold about 6 ounces and were a favorite to serve custard, which could be baked right in them.  We have a set of four (4) overall near mint, decals near mint and about 90% gold overall.  The bottoms are clean showing very little wear as depicted in the thumbnail.

Autumn Leaf Jewel Tea 10"  Dinner Plate    

The first thing I will do is give you our definition of conditions and corresponding prices for those conditions for each plate. Mint means I check the face and rim of the plate with a magnifier making sure there are no "knife scars" or "stacking marks" or even "unsightly factory blemishes."  (mint) unmarked decals and 100% gold appliqué, no wear.

Generally off white color as was originally produced --- some plates have turned a mellow color towards a yellow tint over time and from probably firing or clay formula at production time.  Whatever the reason, some pieces have "mellowed" which is quite desirable in esthetics.  We have a $2.00 premium on mint pieces only -- no differing in price below mint.

In these thumbnail you will see three different styles of gold on these plates.  The plate on the right has a thin band of gold found on many of the plates produced by Hall in the Autumn Leaf pattern for Jewel Tea.  Some of the plates were produced with a medium band of gold and some with a heavy band probably depending on who was doing the finishing.  We have piece with all three categories of gold so check what you have if you are trying to match pieces and ask how many we have available.

This thumbnail shows the Autumn Leaf pattern.  Generally the colors are bold brown, gold and orange but occasionally the design will have more muted colors or coral instead of orange.  Again request what matches your pieces.

 In this thumbnail you will note that the plate on the left is a mellow color yet the one on the right is very white.  this is another common variation.

35a)  These four Jewel Tea, Autumn Leaf flat soup bowls are in varying condition.  One is mint with mint gold but with small chip under rim; two are mint with 90% gold and each have small chip under rim; one is mint with 85% gold.   This Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf 1/4 Pound Dish with cover is known as the regular ruffled type.  This was a more practical size for the time period with the advent of the packaging of

42)  This 3 tier Tidbit Tray by Hall China Company for Jewel Tea has a small, medium and large plate attached by a metal 4 piece bolt with ring top.  The metal originally has a gold finish over white metal and the bottom of the bolt is a flat head screw.  The ring is not secured in place and is movable.  Each plate has a hole drilled in the center which necessitated the placing of the company back stamp off center on the large plate and there are no stamps on the smaller plates (occasionally you will find offset stamps on the small plates also).  For originality make sure you check where the stamps are; the bottom plate is 10 1/4".  This tray is all original and is in mint condition with 100% gold.  The metal stem does show a little wear with small corrosion spot.  We have this fine piece priced at $xxx.00. ... Autumn Leaf Pattern Jewel Tea Newport Teapot by Hall 

This Autumn Leaf Newport Teapot with lid was introduced in 1933 and was only produced until 1935.  The style was reintroduced in 1978 but with some differences such as a smaller decal and gold around the tip of the spout.  this piece retains about 85% gold overall, most wear is on top of the handle.  the decals are mint and the overall color has a slight yellow tint.  A small dimple is on the left edge of the spout and an old worn chip is on the underside of the right lid opening, which is not noticeable.

45)  This Autumn Leaf Nautilus Teapot  was made for the National Autumn Leaf Collectors Club by Hall China Company in 1996. The Nautilus Teapot derives its name from the magnificent nautilus seashell and the spout appears to be the nose of the mollusk peering from its shell. It measures 7" tall by 9" wide.  There were 4445 made for orders placed by NALCC members.  Only  members  could have purchased these pieces.  This teapot is in mint unused condition.  The third  thumbnail shows the bottom of the teapot and the information that it was made for the club. This is a truly classic design.

46) A fine Autumn Leaf pattern wood and glass serving tray by Hall China Company of East Liverpool, Ohio.  The pattern is hand painted on the reverse of glass and held in place by the wooden frame.  The glass and pattern are perfect and the wood frame is excellent but does have some edge wear of the walnut stain (see thumbnails).  The reverse is excellent.  These are fairly scarce and generally found in poor condition, this is overall excellent and would enhance any collection.  We have this fine piece priced at $225.00 ... Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf

The Autumn Leaf pattern was applied to these frosted glasses made by Libbey.  The taller glass, known as the ice tea, measures 5 1/2" tall and was made from 1940 to 1949.
